Constitutional Hydrotherapy

Constitutional hydrotherapy has been used in Nature Cure to affect the immune, nervous, and gastrointestinal systems. The application of hot and cold towels to the chest, abdomen, and back provide a pumping action to the circulatory and lymphatic systems. Fresh blood, nutrients, and oxygen travel to the vital organs; excess fluids and toxins are shunted to the kidneys, liver, and lungs; and the gastrointestinal tract is gently stimulated. This is the time of year when I start to see folks coming in overworked, stressed out, worn-down, and fighting whatever bug is going around the workplace and schools. Hydrotherapy is one of the best ways to combat the bugs when you're working many hours and need to take a time out to optimize your health. I usually see patients once every week or two during the cold and flu season for optimal immune stimulation and illness prevention.

Welcome to my blog everybody! I have been excited about starting a naturopathic medical blog for the past few weeks. So, here we are----Fall is changing the hillside into a magical palette of bold colors, the wind is picking up and blowing crisp leaves down the sidewalk, and my patients are starting to come in with stuffed up noses, headaches, and coughs. For quite a while I have been keen on the idea of running a hydrotherapy shift at my clinic. I started offering hydrotherapy treatments mid-September and the response has been positive. Hydrotherapy is a time-tested, effective way to boost the immune system, reduce stress, and promote full-body healing.  I'll be opening up several shifts soon, so stay tuned in...and THANKS for reading!
